TGIF

Thank goodness it is finally Friday! Its just been one of those weeks with countless hours by myself with the kids and their antics!
I have been late 3 of 5 pickups from preschool (and the other 2 days it wasn't me who was picking up, so I was 3 for 3!!), I was late getting Piper to preschool one day, I got Peyton to school on time by the skin of my teeth - 8:34 we were pulling in the parking lot, he has till 8:35 to get there! And today I was determined to get where I needed to be on time - I set my alarm for earlier! A lot of good that did, I accidently turned it off and slept till 7:59 (which NEVER happens bc the kids never sleep that long), and I had to dress and feed them all,  and get out the door by 8:23!! Did it, but nothing like starting off a day like that!

This is what it has come to....double gates because I can't keep Pax in the living room long enough to go the bathroom. Why not let him out? Well because faster than I can turn my back, he is climbing on the dining room table, climbing the stairs, throwing my decor around the room....

A day too soon!

So I guess I posted a day too early! This "trick" is the icing on the cake! He never ceases to amaze me with the things he is able to get into. Why did I take a photo rather than take him down (asks my husband)? Well because he's number 4, not 1! Why not chronicle it in a photo before yelling at him? :)

Two going on five

God truly saved the wildest, most fearless, trouble making toddler for last! Paxton is giving me a run for my money!!(except I didn't pay for him, so I guess that figure of speech is kind of mute) He thinks he's much bigger than he is!
He has figured out how to climb out of his crib, set off my car alarm continuously, been found fishing in the toilet, figured out how to climb the baby gate (NONE of them EVER figured that out!!). He gets into EVERYTHING and then some.

He is the one where most mom's are gasping and panicking because he will be doing tricks like this at the park....

I'm so used to it and by the time you get to the fourth, not much phases you anymore. Jeff and I are always talking about how much more relaxed you get from kid #1 to kid #4! And if you don't have 4, just trust me. :)

While I joke that its best that he's my 4th and not my 1st or I would have had several heart attacks by now, he truly makes me work hard to keep him safe and out of trouble! He takes being a toddler to a whole other level!

Reasons I NEVER get on the phone

If I don't answer the phone or never call you back, here is why:

Because before I know it all my groceries are being dumped on the floor and the plastic bags - clearly not meant to be played with - are being used to play store, change babydolls diapers, and collect things. (And, if you're wondering why I still use plastic bags, its called 4 kids and I can't remember to take them with me. To which someone so kindly told me to leave them in my car because that would make it so much easier to remember - um, yeah, did I mention I have 4 kids and I'm lucky if I remember my wallet?)

Because a cup of water being used for painting is all over the floor and being refilled by a 3 yr old and spilled once again.

Because chances are I'm changing a diaper, taking someone to the bathroom, giving someone a snack or drink.

Because if I get a second without a screaming or fighting kid, I'm running to the bathroom by myself!

Because if they spot me on the phone they are hanging from the ceiling fans before I know it.

Because I just might have an ulcer from the stress of just trying to handle something over the phone for 5 min!

Because I can come back to an email or text message and the recepient can't hear how out of control things really are!

Vacation 2012

So our vacation was a memorable one and all in the 1st 2 days! My facebook post on day 2 was similar to this: A trip to the ER for a child with a broken toe, a dead car battery with all kids exhausted and covered in sand, a child who throws up in the car on the way back to the beach house, and forgetting our 11 yr wedding anniversary all by day 2 of our vacation!

Yep, that was the start to our family vacation to Ocean City, MD. Although it was eventful and it took until the last 2 days before the kids finally settled into a routine and went along with the flow, it was a good one.

Here is snapshot of the 200+ photos I took. :) We spent lots of time in the sand and water, cruising up and down the boardwalk, eating ice cream, and just enjoying life away from work and home.

Pax turned 2 while we were there...enjoying his Big Bird he got for his bday!

So Pax went and turned 2 on us!!

I can't believe that our baby is 2 already. It feels like not too long ago Jeff and I were standing with our jaws to the floor looking at a positive pregnancy test, saying "It can't be right. Can it?" After a long, painful pregnancy we got the funniest, cutest, most snuggliest little blond haired, blue eyed boy! We re constantly in awe of how cute he is! We can't get enough of his snuggles and his "Hi DaDa" and "Hi Mama". We don't want it to end!

He is quite the stinker too! He learned a new trick while on vacation...climbing out of his crib. We got home and he forgot about it for a few days. I thought we were in the clear. No, not so much. At 6:30 this morning I hear a car alarm going off. I look out the window and see that its my car. I go downstairs fully expecting to see Jeff still home and trying to turn it off, or I had thought that maybe someone was pulling on the handle when they went by. But instead I find Paxton red handed with my keys saying "Hi Mama"!! I'm SOOOO not ready for him to have the freedom to get up when he wants. He is the toughest yet with getting into stuff!

He had tube surgery yesterday and all went well. All except the waking up out of anesthesia!! He screamed, cried, threw himself around...It was like wrestling an alligator! He doesn't do well with waking up out of it - this happened the last time he had surgery for his tongue. He was so upset that he ended up going home in the hospital pjs! Glad its over and hoping this is the answer for his countless ear infections!

All in the day of

Today's email to Jeff...with added things to give someone who doesn't live this life a better idea.

Today has just been one of those days!!!! Parker has whined about EVERYTHING!!! He started off the day by peeing in his pants!!!!! He’s upset that he has to put his shoes on, then he doesn’t want to walk to the car, then he doesn’t want to go into the store, then he can’t walk at the store, he’s mad that he was busy with his sticker and didn’t get to carry his library book to the car.... and it just goes on and on! (insert a tantrum, arm crossing, crying, feet stomping, flipping out after EACH whine session)
Piper decided to squirt an entire 3 oz bottle of hand sanitizer into the cup holder in the van! (how the heck am I supposed to clean up 2.5 inches of hand sanitizer??) Then she decides to touch the container of hand sanitizer wipes and puts them at the edge of the front car door so that when I close the door it squishes it and then when I reopen the door (after our trip into Target) the lid bursts off and sprays all over my legs!
We go to the library and Pax is just all over the place. At one point the younger 3 are pounding away at the computer keyboard and I can’t get a single one of them to stop touching it. I have a screaming and squirming 23 month old in my arms in a LIBRARY, 2 toddlers and a 7 yr old who I ask to stand with the stroller while I put Pax in the stroller and get our stuff together. Next thing I know Piper is playing puppets and the boys are fighting over the lollipop bag! AHHHHH!!!!!! (all while other people are watching the charades and I am clearly giving them reason to judge me for having 4 kids so close in age because I look completely out of control!)
I knew it was going to bad even before I left this morning, when I’m trying to leave and Piper and Pax are running around the dining room, grabbing my keys and pressing the panic button (thankfully the battery is dying and they weren’t able to set off the alarm), Parker’s throwing a tantrum over having to put shoes on and go to the bathroom, Piper's then deciding to refuse to go to the bathroom, once again Pax has the keys, Peyton is absorbed into his DS and not listening to me ask him to grab the keys while I am yelling at a 3 yr old to JUST GO TO THE BATHROOM ALREADY, Parker is still crying because he doesn't want to put his shoes on, now he's mad because I put his Leapster in my bag (to protect it from the grabbing Pax) instead of leaving it on the table...... And around and around we go!!
All in a day of the life here at the Borchelt household!!

Piper's 3rd Birthday Party

Piper had a princess birthday party!

Its so cute to see these two becoming closer. Piper loves Braycee!

Piper's friend Kate.

These two have been friends since they were 3! Its so cool to see them pick up where they left off. They don't get to see each other often because we don't live close. They are so much alike its scary.

Uncle Trevor was home for a visit! He was teaching Parker to ride a skateboard!

Pax's new way to drink his bottle.
