Half eaten poptarts and vacuum attachments

Being as I am a HUGE germaphobe and carry hand sanitizer everywhere we go, Parker's lovely infatuation with putting things in his mouth often makes me want to hurl. He will eat ANYTHING!!!!! Or should I say try to. He eats everything from dust bunnies from under the couch (yes I have dust bunnies under the couch - I mean come on... aren't there more important things to do then sweep up dust bunnies, like sit on my butt and watch the latest series premier!), to dirt off the ground, bugs (ants and crickets included), mulch, tire pieces meant for the playground surface, to the vacuum attachments (YUCK!!!), to... get this one, Peyton's half eaten poptart from the TRASH CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GROSS!!!

I can handle rolling in the mud, digging in the grouchy old lady's "dirt" (hehe - that was kind of funny), squishing bugs (well sort of), jumping in huge mud puddles, wiping food through their hair and all over the clothes.... but I CANNOT handle eating things from the trash can!! Where he gets this from, I'm not sure. It has been going on since he was about 9 months old. 9 months later we are still battling him daily, just waiting and hoping that this will end soon! PLEASE Parker... Mama could use a break!

Aren't there more important things in life?

Jeff, the kids, and I went for a walk around the neighborhood, as we have many many times before. Correction... we walk, Peyton rides his bike. He will often ride ahead of us (just to the end of the block) and wait for us to catch up so we can cross the street together. As he's waiting for us, he apparently looks down and sees all this dirt next to the sidewalk. Being a 5 yr old boy, he starts to play in it. The Wicked Witch of the West comes flying out of her house and starts to tell Peyton not to play in it because there is grass seed planted there. She waits for us to come to the end of the block with arms crossed and the meanest face. We are greeting her with a smile because all the elderly tend to smile and just eat up our kids. Its the highlight of their night to talk to the kids as we go past. Well that was not the case for this woman. She says to us "We have a problem here!" Jeff and I say "Ok?", to which she says "He's over here digging in the dirt and there is grass seed planted here!!!!!" (all the explanation points to emphasize her anger) Jeff says "He's just a 5 year old boy, he doesn't know its not just dirt" Now had she treated us with respect and just asked us to not allow him to play in it, we would have apologized and moved on. No, she had to flip out and tell us that we should be watching our kids and how dare he play in it, she's obviously trying to grow grass. Well as hot tempered as I can get, I tell the lady "Lady get over it, its just grass seed! He didn't know any better. He's just a little kid!" I proceed to keep walking. She was fit to be tied already due to Peyton's ridiculously dispicable behavior and then I topped it off. Give me a break lady!!! He's 5 and thought it looked like a fun dirt pile to play in! What boy doesn't want to stop and play in the dirt. Is he supposed to see the tiny little seeds and know that they are to grow grass and not just part of the fun?!?!? I guess we all have our "things", but come on! I should feel bad for her and her constant state of misery, but wow did she tick me off!!

Family

Some shots Trevor took...

Nightly Dance Parties

The photos didn't come out all that great, but you get the point. Jeff loves to turn on the music channels that we have on Comcast and the kids have a great time dancing to them. They both love to dance, but Parker will dance to anything! Whenever he hears music you can count on him to be wiggling in his chair/carseat, dancing in front of the TV, he even dances when the air conditioning unit comes on outside. :) Peyton has pretty good rythym and his moves get us cracking up sometimes.

Thing 1, 2, & 3

We bought the kids "Thing" shirts (they are white not the typical red b/c they didn't have matching shades of red) and this was the best I could do with getting Parker to sit for a picture. Piper wasn't having it either.

On the other hand, Peyton and Piper were hamming it up.
He truly loves his sister. He's always trying to talk to her, kiss her, and make sure she's ok.

Life

Some things that have been going on at the Borchelt house... Peyton started Kindergarten and loves it! Parker is learning to say more and more. "No" seems to be more prominent than ever! :) Piper is working on rolling over and loves watching her brothers run all over the house. Tanya is hobbling around after the kids with a cast and a stress fracture to her heel and Jeff is enjoying the fact that he has Saturdays off for about 2 months so he can watch college football. :)

Peyton is always begging me to take a picture of him as soon as I get the camera out.

Piper loves her swing.

Tried to get Parker kissing Piper, but the camera wasn't cooperating and this is the best I could do.

And this is the most cooperative I could get Parker to be when I asked him to sit next to Sissy.

Done with the highchair!!!

I got sick of cleaning the highchair and having to wash the seat cover constantly so we moved him to a booster at the table. He loves being a big boy and sitting at the table with the rest of us!

Parker is 18 months old!

Our little man is 18 months old and way too smart for his own good. He gets into EVERYTHING! He's cute and uses that to his advantage. We can't help but laugh at him sometimes rather than tell him "No".

Piper is 3 months!

I can't believe she's 3 months old already! She loves to smile and talk to everyone.

Our Tiger

Peyton got his face painted at kids night at Chickfila.

Labor Day 2009

The boys spent a little time in the pool. Jeff was kept busy having to chase both of them since I couldn't get my cast wet.
